In the pics you will see tonight’s treats, some of them anyways.
Picked up a solid 70 30 medium ground beef while filling the freezers today.
Making triple smash burgers with mustard and pickle........and in this case the darn pickles are going on top!
Also found in my storage area a 2017 Belgian quad beer. 26oz bottle made by a great small town brewer that no longer is there making beer.....when this beer was new it was sweeter than cotton candy. But with age......lol.....the fermentation continued and while there is still basic sugar flavours there, the brewing is finally completed.
It was aged for a year initially in barrels, not sure what kind, the bottle says oak....it’s been a while and my memory isn’t some new age fantastic thing.
Started as an 11% but I’m sure it could be anywhere in the 13% range now.
Bold flavours, very thick taste.
Nice treats for a Saturday.

Hopefully I will get some good burger pics.....going full bore in the performer with that cast centre piece.
First triple come off perfect..the second burger doesn’t seat quite as much as it cools a bit.
2oz meatballs, smashed to almost see through.....about 45 seconds cook total both sides.
If you haven’t done this, the grease literally is dripping from your face.
While that sounds very unattractive, the mouth has never been happier.
Also process...or American cheese I guess it’s called.
Salt added to the burger once the smash happens.

Sounds just like what I wanted last night! Maybe tomorrow! Lasagna tonight. “It’s easier for Grandpa” yeah sure it is. Actually I suppose since it’s premade, it is. I just don’t care this weekend. I spent part of last week preparing for feeding eight people and that was killed off in half an hour! There tends to be less conversation than I remember when I was a kid. Maybe it’s just a change in perspective.

Not so smash per say.....guess I missed the temp at the start.
Pulled a quad smash into the mix.....
not hot enough I guess.

I really think you held back. I know you could’ve gone much higher. Much. I’ll give you a 7/10. Mostly for effort. You can reach higher! I’m rooting for you!
