Tried a new Bear Mountain blend

So last night I did some sliced pork shoulder (i.e. "country boneless ribs at Costco) on Members Mark (I felt it was getting lonely and I wanted to give the new igniter rod a run. While I was at Menards earlier I saw a new blend from Bear Mountain and also what appears to be improved product as well. https://bearmountainbbq.com/products/bold-bbq-craft-blend™-wood-pellets
I've been kind of staying away from their brand and sub brands due to what I've been seeing as the poor quality of their pellets. Very small, broken pieces. More like tiny gravel and A LOT of dust and detritus causing me to have to "strain" them. This has been true regardless if it was actually labeled Bear Mountain or the sub brand they sell at Sam's. And no matter where I bought them from. I've been having to clean out copious amounts of dust packed into my augers. But, when I picked up these bags to read the blend I felt very different pellets. Firm, well formed, longer and MUCH cleaner with little to no dust.
But pricing a bit higher at $8 for 20# bag. Though really not a bad price.
They looked more like the pellets from Kirkland, Traeger, and so on than what I've been used to seeing from Bear Mountain companies. Pleased with the results (though I had to push the cook sadly). I packaged up all the pieces I made ready to finish as sous vide
 
Have you noticed much difference in flavor of the food with different pellets?

I'm brand new to pellets and have only used two kinds (Weber blend and Traeger blend) so far. I didn't notice a flavor difference.

I suppose they may be like charcoal brands. Not much difference in the taste of the results, but differences in how they burn, how much dust/filler, etc.
 
Well these sure smelled great but because I could not perform the cook the way I'd hoped not all that much. Overall though not really but honestly it's likely because I'm always using the same blends primarily made up of oak, hickory and cherry. I've not experimented with alder, apple, pecan/pecan shell stuff, pure mesquite, what have you. Later today I'll open up the Members Mark and see how the ash situation is. Curious as to how much ash is left and how cleanly the new BM pellets burned.
