It's me again. My new Genesis EP-330 is being delivered (assembled) on Friday. Do you have any good tips on seasoning it?
I've read what Meathead says, but I want to know your ideas too. I've already got a Maverick ET-733, so monitoring the grill temp should be no problem. I sure appreciate your help and guidance.

thanks,
JP

OK, I guess I'll just wash the innards a bit with mild soap/water. Get it dry.
Then crank it up with all burners on deck for 20 minutes.

I'd just crank it on high for 20 minutes or so. That'll burn off any residuals from the manufacturing process, and save you some elbow grease! Congrats on the new grill!
PS,I was in Black Mountain delivering yesterday. Got soaked!

Good luck with the new Genesis. Mine was new last January and I love it.
And just do as Phil suggested.

how cool is that gonna be chief. dang. i can guess what youre gonna be doing. congrats.

two things
a) don't let them damage the casters in delivery
b) burn-in the new pit for awhile by cranking up the temp gradually over about half hour and ease it back down for another half hour. after that you might consider wiping down the grates with a little oil (little! or it will get sticky) while they are warm but not hot to the touch.

don't lift the lid...
