Time to start thawing!

Just pulled my Christmas bird out of the chest freezer and put it in the fridge to thaw. If you're thawing in the fridge, it's probably time to get started.

12 - 16 Lbs. - 3 to 4 days
16 - 20 lbs. - 4 to 5 days
20 - 24 lbs. - 5 to 6 days

I start a day early so it's ready to dry brine the day before.
Turkey costs more than an arm and a leg around here.
3 out of the 4 families that are close have chosen to not cook the bird this year.
I never do so the price doesn't directly effect my household.
Maybe more bbq talk is what is needed to get items like brisket in the mix.
