Time to clean again. Have a few quick ??

Its time again to clean my Genny II. I have the cast iron ceramic grates with the stainless heat deflectors and flavorizor bars. I usually soak the grates and the stainless bits in the sink with some dawn while I scrape out the cook box. Any reason I can't put these in the dishwasher??

I have put grill parts in the dishwasher before. It doesn't seem to do a very good job and I almost always have to clean some gunk out of the bottom of the dishwasher afterwards. Give it a try.

I guess you could put them in the washer. But why? Do they really need to be that clean? Manually cleaning them will do a better job anyway, and my wife would have a fit if I put greasy grill parts in the washer.
