Throwing on steak, burgers, or wings with a long smoke?

Does anyone ever throw on steak, burgers, or wings with a long smoke? I understand the temperatures could make it more challenging, but I'm just wondering what I can get away with adding in - without firing up the gas grill.

Anything to avoid like fillet mignon? I have read that burgers can throw off the taste/seasoning of the grill.....may be fine for backyard cooks though.

Thoughts?
 
Never have done any of those, but I have thrown on some hotdogs and sausage while doing a long smoke and it has never affected my temps before.
