Thoughts on this redhead?


 
I sanded the frame down and hit it with a couple coats of rustoleum. I still need to paint the emblem and the lid endcaps.




I was able to drill out the broken screw in the pan rail and put new rails on And drip catcher.



Threw a tank on and she fired right up. Burners are still good. I replaced the flavorizers and grate and igniter.
First trial run pegged at 550 in under 5 minutes.

 
I'd like to piggyback on this conversation. I have a Genesis 1000 (I think) but I can't pinpoint the year. My serial number begins KL 1, but I don't see KL on any Weber year lists. Any ideas? Model is 21000 -- that's a 1000, right?
