Thin gasget?

I am just curious. Does anyone make a thin gasget that can be used safely on the WSM for the access door and the top and middle sections? Something that can be put on permanently and made of something safe to use within the temperature range of the smoker. I know aluminum foil will work but was just thinking about something different (I have too much time on my hand).

Use aluminum tape I think it should be in the heating and cooling section of your local Home Depot or Menards.
Although air leaks can be a good thing!

Dave, I sealed my access door with some black loc-tite liquid gasket maker. I just put on a nice bead, inserted the door and let it sit for a few days. Here is a link to the thread when I asked the same question. I have been very happy with the results, less fuel consumption, being the most noticable.

As far as a gasket of some sort for between the lid and middle section, I dont do anything. Good luck and let us know how/what you decide.
