What does everone use? I am thinking about ordering a Maverick RediChek ET-73 Wireless Smoker Thermometer but wanted to get the pros advice!

Also, how can I order a thermometer through this site so Chris gets something for it?

Have I mentioned how much I love this site?
 
Jeff what ever you decide I think chris likes to see people use amazon, they are a great company. Go to homepage on this site and it says how ordering from amazon helps this site. Good luck!
 
Not a pro here but I like the maverick 732 unit, it has very good range, I use the bbq probe at grate level and disregard the the lid thermo, Mavericks customer service is good also. maverick now offers 6ft probe wires instead of 3ft.
 
I have had the 73 but i like the 732 way more. A little extra cash but to me its worth it. Maverik have had some problems with their Probes. If they break on ya just call up Mav and they will replace them.
 
I have only had the 732, so my experience with wireless thermometers is very limited. I can tell you this, my ET-732 has performed flawlessly every time I have used it! The thing reads so well, at first I didn't like it because it showed every little change in the temp.I was up and down, constantly adjusting my vents. Now that I'm used to it, it is my best BBQ friend! On overnighters, I level the temps, set the receiver next to the bed, and it's lights out knowing my high/low temp alarms have been set!
A great tool to help in your Q-ing.
