Thermocouple issue

Just finished my build and worked out my first issue with the help of a couple members. Now trying to address an issue with the thermocouple. Without the probe the grill temp will display either no probe (as expected) and other times shows a temperature reading...??? Also, with no thermocouple probe, probe 1-2-3 will give a proper reading with a food probe. If I put the therm probe in the reading is no probe and probe 1 quits working...probe 2-3 work fine. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Sounds like you've got Food 1 probe and the Pit probe connections touching somewhere?

i do not see anything touching. I just powered up to try again. Currently showing pit 364 (no probe) and probe 1 74 with a food probe plugged in...? Same thing if I plug food probe in 2 or 3. I will take a closer look. Thank you.

Why would the pit probe show a temperature reading with no probe? Sorry, very noob! Thank you.

It's because somewhere they are physically connected. You've got a piece in the wrong place or a solder bridge.
