Thermocouple calibration - way off

Well, this story has taken a turn for the better.

After swapping over the TC amp from my first board, I was still seeing super high temps. Not knowing what else to do, I decided to do one more super-scrub with the isopropyl alcohol. After it dried out, I plugged it back in and now it's magically working. Truly bizarre, but I'll take it.

I just did a water boil test and it hits 211F without trouble.

Hope it stays this way!

Hi everyone. First post here. My pit probe thermocouple is reading 638°F at room temp. Just built it today.

My wife is awesome and figured it out. It was in config. I had to set it to "thermocouple" from "internal"

Just a silly question... What would happen if the wiring was reversed on a thermocouple?
