The ultimate lazy fish dinner

Nice prep and cook. I hope you realize Sawai is catfish that is fed sewage in Indonesia or some place like that. Not to rain on your parade or anything. But you gotta be careful what is passing for "seafood" these days
Not my job to educate you on what is catfish or not. I’d recommend you choose your fish on actual research versus internet fodder. Choose reputable brands and places to buy your food. Any food over consumed will not be healthy for anyone. I appreciate your post but I try to avoid large blanket statements of any food product or health benefits. I’m just a home cook.

My fish steamer I bought on Amazon, I need to use it more! Your cooks keep me inspired. Keep cooking my friend.View attachment 87157
You’d laugh at my ghetto steamer. My wok, a small bowl in the wok, a baking dish for the food, water and a lid. 2 inches of water, place it all in and cover to steam. Drain the fish when done and drizzle the hot sizzling aromatics atop the fish. I think my wife will kill me if I buy another kitchen tool these days. But your steamer does look really nice!

My steamer is low quality but it gets the job done:LOL: that's all that matters. It's a copy of some nice ones out there.

I saw the stuff at the market and never heard of it. Asked the guy behind the fish counter. He's the one flat out told me what it is, and then I researched it further. If you know something different what it is, I'm all ears.

Well, article did not make me feel better about consuming it. For me if it isn't raised in US wild or responsibly farmed, or from Europe (same criteria) I'll just avoid it. YMMV and if you enjoy it that's fine. Me, I am too squeamish about consuming anything grown or farmed in those parts of the world. And honestly cannot understand why we even need it here.

Just know what you’re buying and its source. But that goes for all products, not just fish.

I shop at Asian markets and they sell stuff that American stores done carry. I’m fine with diversity so long as I know what I’m buying.

And we don’t eat a single concentration of any food, except chicken.

I’m pretty sure the American made Frito Lay crunchy cheese doodles aren’t my best choice either. But they find their way into my diet on occasion too.

Here for a good time. Not sure about a long time. A little swai isn’t going to kill me.
