the Snowman cometh!

This is the legendary snowman! That's a 1 inch kao-wool blanket from when I was in the heating trade. The thermal properties are amazing, yesterday I cooked and 8 pound pork picnic in 9 hours on approximately two chimneys of kbb.

Due to the extreme heat retention I use a MMM (modified minion method) on long cooks, & short cooks are handled by about a half to one chimney. This is a blessing for the rough New England winters that I cook in. I highly recommend that everyone wrap that rascal in kao-wool!

That looks like the inside of mine when I accidentally left a full water pan inside for a week after cooking a couple of pork butts .

Lol! Yes, it's not pretty. 20 years ago when I first wrapped it it used to be nice and white and my girlfriend put cardboard cutouts like a snowman face on the dome one day so that's how it got the name lol the heat retention is amazing though, almost a little too much for the summer, I used to take it off in the warm weather but...

For Halloween I paint it orange like a jack-o-lantern
