My older brother would send me (age <10) to the gas station to get him cigs out of the machine - with a note saying they were for him. No underage sales and all. No one would even blink, much less look at the note!

I remember when you would put .20cents in the machine and it would dispense a pack of cigs with two pennies under the cellophane. I have no idea what the cost is today but I bet you don't get any change under the cellophane. LOL

I remember going to the store for cigarettes for Mom and getting an extra 20 cents to get a soda AND a candy bar! Actually,I think the change was 20 cents,from a dollar, and she'd let me use it for sweets! :)
