Today is the big day! Got this on my front porch.

The "help" jumped right in.

And pretty much stayed in when we were done putting it together.

She's a beauty! You are going to love it. How do you like that new bolt on handle? I had Weber send me out a replacement lid and it came with the bolt on handle. Kind of weird but it seems sturdy.

No my original didn't have the guard so I complained and they gave me a new lid and handle with the guard. So now I have a back up lid just in case.

I posted this on another thread but I thought I'd cross post in here as well...

I figured something out tonight. This may be common knowledge but I sure didn't know it. I had an old 22.5 cooking grate that was rusting out. It fits almost perfectly on the charcoal grate of 26.75 so I laid it perpendicularly to save charcoal and prevent large chunks for clogging the ash sweeper. Works great.

Congratulations on the new 26er Justin! At least now we know we can cook a small boy on it.

Any pictures of the new bolt on top handle? Thanks

Shawn,
If you look up a few posts, you can see the bolts on the picture of the grill with the lid up. I'd take more pictures if you want them but I think that picture pretty much tells the story.

Hey! I forgot about this thread.

I'm troy, your newest member.

I scored a red 26er a few weeks ago. It's currently being cleaned and restored

ive been on the hunt for a 26 for the last 6 months. I think i would sell my performer for one. I wish they would make a 26 performer. that would be ideal!!

Picked this up NIB for $150 on Craigslist last month. Had to get a new bowl from Weber because it was damaged in shipping.
