Teriyaki chicken thighs, again

Well, these were a hit so they got made again.

This time I kept the teriyaki sauce thin for comparison.

Marinated them in the fridge for a few hours. Then a direct sear and then to indirect.

Served with some steamed jasmine rice and daikon radish along with a cucumber and tomato salad.

Lots of flavor. From 12 thighs, I only had 4 leftover. I guess I need to make more so next time i can expect lunch leftovers.

That terri chicken looks really good.
It’s one of my favorite ways to have chicken.
The skin looks perfect.
Your sides look wholesomely tasty as well.
Mine looks very similar and yet cooked very different.
Good work.

Trying to eat healthy. If you refuse to buy prepackaged food and less healthy choices, all you have to cook and eat are healthier foods. Kinda like conscription.
I still walk the middle aisles of the grocery store ( just for some walking basically) but I don't buy anything from them. They are improving with the enthic options in a couple of those aisles......but I rarely find anything I want in them.....I don't live in a great area for getting quality ingredients to make delicous dishes that would originate in other countries.
I buy produce........cheese......that is about it......
Once you start picking up a box or bag of anything and look at the ingredients its easy to set it back down.

i added a splash of dark soy sauce to the marinade this time. it gives a much darker finish to the chicken and skin.

daikon radish is so good with this meal. a nice peppery and clean flavor. and it tastes great with the rice that has some teriyaki sauce on it.

this one is my goto, from my local Ranch 99 or KP is Rancho Cordova (for any of you locals following along).

yes! soy sauce was the only processed ingredient in this cook. not too bad, i'd say.
