I just thought I would tell about something different! Wife picked me up my usual marinade at Wal-mart (It's just called "Brisket Sauce" Haven't been to a Wally world that didn't carry it! Very good!!) and she found some teriyaki marinade from KC Masterpiece. So for the heck of it and something different I did the flat of a brisket with the Teriyaki and the big end in the Brisket Sauce. Marinaded both overnight. Put them in this am and let them go all day with a bit of red maple and a little bit of cherry. To be real honest the Teriyaki had the most beautiful glaze on it and had just an incredible flavor to it! I will probably keep using my regular sauce but I will definitly use that Teriyaki more! I may just try using it on a butt!

I've always used Soy sauce on my brisket. Just a splash to sit overnight with the rub. I use soy when grilling steaks, salmon...almost everything...but just a splash or it can become too salty.
