Temp gage issues

Hey ya'll me again with another question, this time about the therm in the lid. I know most of them aren't worth the metal they're made of and hardly if ever accurite. It's not so much the accuracy, well thats not totally true, but the face of the therms fog over real bad.I've e-mailed CS at Weber and they sent a replacement but it is probably worse than the original,it's still fogged over from Saturdays cook at least the original was clear the next day. So I guess the question is this,do you know of a therm, something like a tel-tru, that will fit into the bezzle holder of the 22 WSM ? I did send another e-mail to Weber cs.

I would recomend a remote therm, like a maverick et 73. They are accurate and you can keep the remote with you instead of getting up to check all the time.

I also use a Maverick ET73. Mine works well and have no complaints about it. There is a temp difference between the lid temp and grate temp.

. You will get the hang of it. Just give it time.

I use an ET-73 as well and I could adjust to a temp difference if the lid therm would be somewhere in the range of what the Maverick reads, but the original one wouldn't go over 255 and the second one was 30 lower than the grate temp. Both fogged up to the point you could hardly see the numbers and the second was still fogged the following day.CS at Weber said they would send me yet another one and have it checked before they send it. They really couldn't have been nicer and even said I didn't have to return the 2 I already have. But I was curious that if I wanted to replace the stock therm with one that has a higher temp reading and could maybe be calibrated what kind would fit the Weber.
