Surplus Thermometer at BBQGURU

I'm new to the group and just ordered a WSM from Amazon. Thanks TVWB! I would like to add a thermometer and am considering the Surplus Thermometer at BBQGURU. My question is... will it be sufficient since it only goes to 300dgs?

As long as you're just going to use the WSM to smoke. When i do chicken on the WSM i crank it up to 350 to get the skin crispy. Hope this helps. Welcome aboard BR /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I ordered a couple of the surplus thermometers from BBQ Guru....not bad for the price. The ones I received did not look like the picture on the website. Mine are Silver with black writing instead of the White dial with blue writing...to be honest I find mine are hard to read. They do have calibration screws which is very nice. And yes, the 300 degree limit would pretty much make it a smoking thermometer.
