SUMMIT S-650 NG SS questions

Hello,
I bought a used SUMMIT S-650 NG SS. Previous owner said he last used it 4 years ago when he had natural gas but moved and it just sat because his new place doesnt. I Attached are some pics. I think it is in great shape. A little rust on the bottom shelf of the cabinet. But, the inside is in very good shape and there is a super tiny amount of rust on the holes where the burners come into the cook box. He said that he was going to try to convert to propane and bought a hose and regulator than gave up after seeing tube videos. I took the regulator off and put on a gas line from a different bbq. Couple questions…1.Does it look like it is connected correctly? 2. I don’t have natural gas to test it. But, there is a spark when I turn the handle on every burner. What are the chances it works? 3. What do you think the value is? Dent on left side table. No rotisserie parts. Thoughts?IMG_3849.jpeg

First off you cannot easily "convert" Weber grills (at least not "cheaply". Also it's confusing here. No clue what the grill is "supposed" to be as opposed to what you would "like it to be". Also this section is for issues with the forum software not grills themselves. Basically to report issues to the owner operator Chris on any irregularities in the web site itself.
Hopefully he will see this and move your thread. But bottom line the ONLY way to do these conversions (if in fact it's what you're asking) is to purchase the correct manifold/valve set for your grill matching the fuel you want to burn.
They shysters you see on YouTube are just that. Shysters and jokers who don't know :poop: about what they're talking about

It was originally a natural gas grill.
Previous owner was going to try to convert it and stopped. But, not before he put a hose on it to connect to a propane bottle. I’m trying to undo what he did and sell it as a natural gas grill. Does it look like the natural gas line is correct? Is there a good chance it works if all the burners spark when you turn the handle? Sorry for putting this in the wrong spot

From what I can see it looks correct. I know the Summit uses a NG regulator which you have included. I can't tell what size the flex gas line is though. Hard to tell if you used a 3/8" or a 1/2". Given it's consumption levels it needs 1/2" line. Otherwise only other thing you can do is give it a try. Do you know if the PO did anything other than trying a different gas line? Did they mess with the orifices? If so there is another PIA you have to deal with. Sourcing correct fuel orifices. Hopefully the PO was discouraged when it turned into a flame thrower on LP :D and did not go digging further. If you have NG line available hook it up and give it a light. Be safe. Keep an extinguisher nearby on the maiden voyage :D Make sure you're not using any hair gel either LOL. (after all you don't want to be a human torch).
All kidding aside, you really won't know until you hook up. Also once you do hook up check it out with something like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BQYQZF22?tag=tvwb-20 These are FAR more effective at finding a leak than old fashioned soap and water is. I've found leaks S&W could not. So the $20 is well spent.
Hopefully it works out

He said that he did not mess with the orifices and gabe up right away. Seemed like a very honest guy. He was very upfront about everything. Thank you for your advice….will spend the $20! Does this look like it’s in pretty good shape to you too? Provided it fires up , what do you think a fair price for this is? In it for $100

Oh boy I am the wrong person to ask about pricing on those. Not sure what the $20 is. But I'd say as long as the firebox is not rusted on the front, the Falvorizer bars are in good solid shape..............IDK $450? But, understand I don't flip grills anymore (actually never did to the extent you see with the guys here) so I'm at a loss on that evaluation.

If you’re in the Madison Wisconsin area, I’d list it for $50. J/K - Summits always seem to be priced high and sit. It depends on your market area. Where are you located?

Honestly it looks like a pretty good example of a large late generation Summit. Has the bells and whistles some folks are looking for. Cleaned a spiffed up a bit, I'm sure it would bring something reasonable. Maybe $300-$400. I would not get greedy with it though. As then it's gonna sit for a couple reasons. One is the fuel source. Not many folks have NG piped out to their grill location, and 2 just the sheer size and complexity.

Agreed about fuel source, and most the folks that have the plumbing are the type that will get rid of a grill just to upgrade and/or avoid actually cleaning it.
