I recently purchased a new Summit E6 that had already been assembled. Right away I noticed that two of the casters did not look like they were seated in proper alignment with their respective legs. When we lifted the grill out of my truck the front caster and insert fell right out of the leg. The fins on the insert appear to be damaged. Weber has sent me a repair kit that consists of three new inserts and safety bolts for removing the lid.
My questions for the forum are;
has anyone else had to replace these? It appears that originally the inserts come pre-installed in the legs.
Has anyone looked into modifying their WSK to the wheels and axle setup that was used on the first generation Summit Charcoal grills? I would be interested in this because I need to move the WSK across some uneven surfaces on occasion.
Any help or opinions will be appreciated.
