Hello

I have probably went to 5 stores here in norway to try and get som Molassis. And I did not find it. Can anybody help me with a substitute for this. One woman at the store told me that she used Malt extract when she made things that were supposed to use molassis... Tips anyone??

Cheers

If any of your stores has an Asian section, they might carry bead molasses which is a lighter, sweeter variety.

Molasses is a byproduct of sugar refining. Brown sugar contains molasses, and white sugar does not.

If your recipe calls for white sugar or turbinado or cane sugar, substitute brown sugar. That will get you at least part of the way there.

I also don't know for sure, but can't you order this kind of thing from the internet (like how US residents can order, e.g., vegemite and marmite)?
