Startup and Shutdown Times

I'm thinking about getting the Smokefire to replace a propane grill and I'm curious as to how long it typically takes to preheat in the summer and how long the shutdown takes to run.

Preheat is normally fairly quick. Obviously it takes a little longer depending on how high you want the temp.
Shutdown…I haven’t timed it, but it always surprises me how long it takes.

Operating optimally the EX4 will heat to 600 F in about 15 minutes. The EX6 takes about 20 minutes. A normal shutdown takes about 15 minutes but there is a quick shutdown technique that Weber doesn't advertise.

I’m surprised the larger EX6 heats up faster,
I thought they both used the same size heat generating parts? Fire pot size, fans and such.
