Stainless Steel pots and pans

If you haven’t already gotten the All Clad set from Costco, I noticed Zwilling is offering this deal right now:

Made in Belgium alongside their super premium Demeyere stuff. More or less equivalent to Demeyere’s 5-ply line, but with riveted handles.
I’ve spent the last few days learning about Demeyere.

The pots and pans business is built on intrinsic marketing. A lot of overpriced noise due to limited opportunities to sell product to its user base.

When it lasts a lifetime, how many selling and buying opportunities are there?

Few, imo, thus overpriced products is the answer and market.

And those starter sets are packed with stuff that’s not really needed.

The set I posted above is just two fry pans.

We have the Demeyere plancha/teppanyaki, but I got it for pennies when it was on super clearance. It’s mostly a toy, but it made everyone happy when we first got it. Everything I’ve made on it was eventually moved back over to using a wok. 🤣

We also have a roasting pan from them put away somewhere, purchased on a holiday sale some years ago. I think we got this because it looked nice and before we knew what we were doing (namely, that hotel/gastronorm pans are the true professional restaurant roasting pans).

I’ve been tempted to try out one of the thick Demeyere 7-ply skillets to see if the claims that they have nearly as much thermal mass as a Lodge cast iron skillet are real….

This. 100%
