What type of adapter do you recommend to get to attach on a new 5 lb Flame King tank shown below to connect to a quick connector that is threaded into the regulator and hose?

I used an adapter I salvaged from an old Kenmore gas grill and also modified the SSP to hold a standard 5lb tank (tank is slightly different from the original Weber 5lb tank). You can see it in the below thread:

Thanks Mike! Before I take a grinding wheel to the tank holder I am trying to figure out why gas is leaking big time from under the tank valve. Gas is gushing out from under the tank valve as soon as I open it. Any suggestions? Here is my connection.

Your's looks all brass. My brass adapter has the black plastic cover that screws to the threads on tank valve for a tight connection. Maybe you are missing that black part.

This is what my fully connected assembly looks like. Notice white plumber's tape where brass connects to aluminum Regulator to prevent leaks in that area.

Mine looks similar to the setup above, I scavenged an old fitting from an old regulator hose lying around:


I believe the fitting itself can be purchased separately new, it's called a QCC1 connector:

I'd recommend using yellow teflon tape which is rated for gas.
