Spirit II Hood Discoloration Fix?

Hello,

As seen in these images the hood has some discoloration around the edges.

Is there a guaranteed fix for this?

Hi John, first verify that it is discoloration and not carbon build up. You can use a razor decal scraper on the trouble spots. If they come off with a scrape its carbon.

If it’s discoloration register your grill with Weber and call customer service and explain your situation. I’m not sure what they do about discoloration since it’s not a safety issue. Customer service is very helpful.

Be careful and keep it flat to the porcelain enamel surface of the lid. Same kind of action that you would use to remove a sticker.

Use some Simple Green to keep things slippery while you scrape.
