Here's a recipe for a "slather" from Paul Kirk:
SPICY MUSTARD SLATHER
1/4 pound (1 stick) unsalted butter
2 cups prepared mustard
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup rice vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons garlic salt
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
Combine the ingredients in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the butter has melted and blended well. Use warm or at room temperature.
Yields about 3 cups.
