I know I should wait until after we make a recipe before I post it, but........ :giggle: This is suppose to be tonight"s dinner.

Southern-Style Chicken-Fried Burgers

1 1l2 lbs. ground beef
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. dried oregano (or cilantro)
salt
freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup bacon fat, melted

1. Preheat grill to medium high.
2. Shape beef into 4 or 6 flat patties, cover and refrigerate.
3. Pour milk into a wide bowl, and flour in another bowl. Add the garlic powder and oregano to the flour and stir well. Removed the patties from fridge, dip in the mile, soaking both sides. Dredge the patties in the flour mixture, shake off excess. Salt and pepper both sides of the burgers.
4. In a large cast-iron skillet placed directly on the grill or over a side burner, fry the patties in the bacon grease until they are browned on both sides and the outside is crispy.
5. Serve on buns or on a plate.

Well, it didn't happen. DH was too tired. We ordered from Cannoli Kitchen. For a long, long time now, I have been on the search for the PERFECT HOGGIE. So, I ordered what they call an Italian sub. Sorry CK, but that was the worst sub I have had in many years.

So, we will see what happens tonight.
