Southern Cali Lump users - where to buy

I've been using my WSM for almost a year now and I've always used good ol' K in the blue bag. But I'm thinking about giving lump a try. So I have 2 questions for my SoCal lump users.

Question 1) Which is the best brand to use?

Question 2) Where to buy.

I generally go to Home Depot or Trader Joe's when they have it.

You might take a look at http://www.nakedwhiz.com/lumprankpoll.htm and keep an eye out for anything in the top 20 or so, but the Royal Oak they sell at Walmart is quite serviceable.

Not from Cal but, in my ecperience, the Royal Oak made is US is pretty good. The other which is made in Paraguay or somewhere near there is not so much. The "Made in USA" is pretty clearly marked, the other is not. I don't know if you have Wegmans in Cal but I have had good luck with their store branded lump. I don't know who actually makes it though. BTW, Merry Christmas to all.

I know I'm responding to this late. You can purchase a 40lb bag of mesquite lump from Smart & Final for around $16.
