Thanks Jim, for your advice about the wood. I have some apple that I will use next time I cook beef. I'll be doing some spares next Saturday and will use the apple for them.

Last Saturday was my first cook and I was more than pleased. Keri asked if we had any pictures and my daughter developed hers and so as soon as someone tells me how to attach them I will send them.

It is not possible to actually "attach" pictures to a forum post like it is to an email. The picture files must reside on a server somewhere on the net, and you can either provide links to them, or they can be displayed "inline" by pressing the IMAGE button when creating your post, which will open a dialog box for you to enter the URL of the image, e.g. http://www.somedomain/pic.jpg .
