Smoking whole turkey and a breast

Doing a 12 lb turkey and a 6 lb breast. I wasn't sure both will fit on top rack so I'm weighing my options. Planning high heat cook with no water in the pan. Would it be better to put one on the lower rack ( thought it might be a little hot with a dry water pan), squeeze both on top rack or I can cook the breast the day before. If cooking the day before would it be best to slice it and just reheat or leave it whole? Thanks, Mark

Should'nt be an issues at all putting one on the lower rack. Just keep on eye on the temp of your meat. I've done two turkeys the last few years but before that I did a bird and just a breast with no problem. Always with a dry water pan clay pot with tin foil and just let me smoker pick the temp anywhere around 275 to 325. I dont really fight to keep it a certain temp.
Unless time is an issue I would rather cook both on the day of instead of the day before. But thats my preference.
