Smoking trout is a major pain

Not worth it. The wife and I caught a bunch of trout up in the Sierras and decided to try them out on the WSM. Marinade...check. Alder...check. Tasty trouts...check. Hundreds of little bones that need to be painstakingly removed from the meat...check. It sucked and there are still many more in there that I'm sure I missed. I can't take a bite without bones. When I smoke fish again it will be with large enough quarry to warrant pliers. On the positive side, the WSM performed flawlessly. I love alder.
