Smokey Mountain.... Kettle

Hi all, I've seen some discussion about using the center section of a WSM, 22" in this case, on top of a 22" Kettle, but had not yet seen a pic of it so I threw one together today. It actually slips beautifully into the Kettle but I notice the lid didn't quite seat correctly, see the right side of the pic. It's a brand new center section so I didn't get crazy with trying to bend it to make it work but I'm thinking you could. It's super close. Hope this helps someone, it was fun to try!

I did the same thing with my 18 wsm, the center and bottom came from Weber with dents on both sections. Weber sent me both section and told me to keep the damaged sections. I have an 18 kettle so I fixed the damaged parts and use the on the 18 kettle. The bottom section can be used as a lid with legs as the handle, works great.
