SMOkettle

I've seen it before, but haven't heard from anyone that actually has used it. Seems like you could prop up a pizza pan on empty charcoal baskets or fire bricks and achieve the same result.

I posted on it about a month ago, and no one at that time had seen or otherwise had any experience with it.

Does it work as advertised or is it just as easy to use charcoal baskets?

I am guessing that the idea is the pan serves as a diffuser, much like the water pan does in a WSM. If it works, and it seems like it would, it would allow you use most of the grate area of your kettle for low & slow cooks - basically your food wouldn't be exposed to direct heat at all. I am also guessing that a pizza pan propped up over your coals by char-baskets or fire bricks would provide a similar benefit.
