The term "smokers lounge" has taken on a whole new meaning at my house since I got my WSM....

Frank,
Just got my WSM this summer...spent a couple New England afternoons smoking and drinking some good beers. I see you're hooked as well. Wish more Yankees used these guys...

Frank,
Off-topic a bit but since you are in my neck of the woods, where do you purchase your smoke wood, charcoal, and meats? Any good selections near you? I frequent Butcher Boy in N. Andover for all the meats, but lots of places around here sell Cowboy Lump...Smoke woods, that's a different story. Only Wally-World or Home depot have wood but the wood is pretty pathetic. Any thoughts?

well , when the weather REALLY closes in , i move my grilling and smoking operation into my garage. its got thick concrete walls and provides pretty good shelter from the elements. i fired up my old brinkmann in there a couple times. it smelled great for weeks! ;-)

Yep, I spent a winter in Boston. You might need more than a jacket! ;) ;) ;)

i hear ya. so far the smoke wood i got from home depot...a bag of oak chunks for about 9 bucks. and truthfully , ive gotten my charcoal mostly from HD as well , but when this last bag of kingsford is gone , im going back to royal oak....waaaaay too much ash from the kingsford. and as for lump , nobody has anything good to say about cowboy lump and i havent scouted out another good brand that can be had around here. now , meats i sometimes get at restaurant depot and i go to bianco's in revere, Ma. for sausage. but i REALLY want to get into going to Mckinnons. theres one in everett,Ma. and one in portsmouth NH and its a tossup which one is easier to get to (at least for me).i might have to hit that butcher boy place , that sounds good.... im really just starting to get into the smoker , so im kind of on the ground floor looking to improve my skills. maybe some of this stuff like smoke wood and lump charcoal can be found online , but let me know if you find stuff locally and i will do the same.
have a good weekend , man:cool:

There's a couple places near me (North Shore) where I can go for meat, but Butcher Boy in North Andover is the real deal. Cheap prices, top quality meat, butchers who understand what you want and are awesome at their craft (not to mention nice)...I always get my babybacks, spares, and butts from Butcher Boy. When I can't make the trip, I can go to Tendercrop in Newbury, Bucharellis in Newburyport, or Haverhill Beef (which would be my second choice)...I've heard good things about McKinnon's but I know they are pricey.

As for lump, I can get Wicked Good Charcoal Lump, Weekend Warrior Blend, at Butcher Boy as well. They've got sauces, rubs, and some wood too. Still, smoke wood is my hardest find...
