Hey all, this past weekend i flew down to Fla from GA, with a turkey i smoked the day before. I just wrapped it in seran wrap, (after it was refridgerated overnight) and put it in my backpack, and away i went.
To put it mildly, the turkey was a huge success! My brother does not give out compliments easily on food (he's a foodie like me /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif , the bastard!) and he couldnt stop saying how good it was, he even took 1/2 the breast home!
Anyhow, i used a couple pieces of maple, about the size of a hockey puck, and this was the perfect amount of wood.
It RULED! I have 3 fresh turkeys now in my freezer since i cant fidn them any other time of year!
