Smoked Meatballs?

So I just made 77 meatballs out of some venison I had in the freezer, and it dawned on me that I could possibly smoke them. Can I smoke them frozen or partially thawed? What temp? How long to smoke them? Do I smoke them to cook them or just cold smoke them? Or do I just smoke them for an hour or so then put them in the crockpot with sauce? Can I just put them on foil to smoke so they don't fall through the grate? I don't want them to be overpowered with smoke just a subtle smokiness for an extra element in spaghetti. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!
 
Depends on the size but I would cook/smoke them to 160.
Cherry Kicks *** on meatloaf or balls.
I use parchment paper with some holes poked thru.
That stills let the smoke get up there.
 
I make them fairly regular, out of thawed beef though. I run them to about 160-165, they're about 2"-2.25" diameter. Takes about 40 min running at 450. Put them right into the sauce for spaghetti.
