Smoked eggs

I know I saw it here at one point but can not find it now. I want to smoke some eggs(potato salad) for the big 4th cook. I have never done this before, any info on temp, time, wood choice (I have hickory, apple, cherry, and pecan on hand) will they keep for a week if I smoke them before hand? good idea, bad idea?

Good idea.

You'll need a cold smoking mechanism and probably pellets.
I recommend the A-maze-n Pellet smoker http://www.amazenproducts.com/Default.asp
Any mild fruit wood (or maple) will work.
If you need any help getting it going, shoot me a PM.
The eggs will keep fine for at least a week if refrigerated properly.
