Smoked a brisket today

It was my first time with a brisket. It was only a 2.5 lber. Smoked it in Mesquite and Oak. It was good but came out quite dry. I took it to 185 should I have let it sit on longer where was my pitfall in getting juicy brisket?

Seeing as how it was only 2.5 lbs you are probably right.
