Dear Board,

During the week I have less time to mess around with the OTG so I use my Genesis.

Tonight I did everything in about 20 minutes except for parboiling the potatoes prior to grilling them. It's nothing special but it was quick and easy and you can substitute other types of fish and vegetables to suit your tastes.

Cod seasoned with Old Bay

Potatoes seasoned with butter, garlic, pepper, and parsley

Asparagus basted and grilled in olive oil, lime juice, and basil wrapped in prosciutto

Great looking meal. I am so not a fish man. Glad to see people eating fish.

Dear Paul,

Truth be told I am a real fish man and I'll eat just about any type of fish or seafood. Unfortunately, the girlfriend will only eat white fleshed fish and it can't have skin on it. She made an exception for tuna steaks the first night I got my Genesis but that's as far as she will go. So I am stuck watching at the market until cod or haddock goes on sale to get my fish fix. We try to eat fish 3 or 4 times a month but it's almost as expensive as beef, and sometimes even MORE expensive than beef so we don't always get our quota.

I wonder if I could keep a mess of bluegills or crappie, or maybe even a nice catfish and fillet everything before she actually sees it and pass it off as Chilean Sea Bass or something like that?

I think it's worth a try? ;)

Regards,

Tim Murphy :)

Man, if I still had the boat I would package up some flounder or sheepshead and send it to you, she would probably go for that.

Ok, since I don't have a boat anymore, this was pointless, so uh, um
.....nice cook, nothing wrong with using the gasser

Dear Rick,

I wish I had an ocean closer to me. She would eat flounder and I love to catch them. I have a nice boat to use in the bay, maybe I can get her to move? C'mon Powerball ;)

In the meantime I'll grill whatever fish I can find on special and hope I can convince her to try more and different fish. I'll find something else fishy to grill here soon enough.

In my opinion Bluegills and Crappies are the best eating fish there is!
