Silver A Frame Connection

How do these two sections of the frame connect and stay put? I noticed while cleaning this one I can pull apart the frame right here, is it that bolt right next to it? Is it supposed to be through the other side of the frame and isn’t?

It is a tab that's welded inside the tube on the side that does not have a bolt.

You could probably push it back together and drill a hole through the frame and tab then put a screw in to hold it.

Welding it all together permanately is one fix.

Welding a nut to the tab would work then drill a hole from the outside.

But this needs a welder.

You could drill a hole through the outer square tube and then through the tab, and bolt it in place. Clearance is tight to get a wrench over the bolt inside the tube.

Maybe @Bruce has a better suggestion.

Yes. It used to be welded to the inside of the tube on the right

Yah, if it was me, the welder would get a quick use. But otherwise, probably just drill a hole and get a self tapping bolt to screw into it.

I would push the parts together, and then drill and tap for a 1/4-20 bolt.
