Side Ribs?

I searched this on the forum first and the only thing I've found is that side ribs are just a Canadian term for spare ribs. Does anyone know if this is the case. The grocery store here only sells side ribs, the butcher sells spares but they look much different (much meatier) not sure if it's just the quality difference and the same cut of meat or something totally different. Anyways thanks if anyone can help!
