Side Burner Side Lock Question

This is LP. Blue lid AFF model. Serial number says it’s a 3000 but it doesn’t look like a 3000. Looks like a 4000 without the flame sensor thingy. Sorry not sure why the pics come in sideways.

I don't think it has anything to do with this but this Genesis 3000 is a Natural Gas and French Canadian grill.
serial number matches up to the grill’s description but I haven’t seen a 3000 with the rh fold up table. Only 4000 have that rh table (that I know) but they have the flame sensor unit. This one doesn’t. Anyways there isn’t a schematic for the model I have. I’m probably missing something though.

There's a good chance that somebody added the right side flip table after as an add on option

If your grill's serial number says it's a 3000 then it probably is, just with an added rh side flip up table. The flame check button was not a feature of your grill. The schematic that comes up when you put in your model or serial number may not be the exact one for your grill. Don't let it drive you crazy😄

Lol. I do sound crazy

I was thinking that too. Anyways, I have Frankenstein 3000 with a floppy side burner at the moment…but I’m determined to fix it right!!!
Wanting to do it right is half the battle. Those side burners are pretty hefty and don't really move around even just set in place without the clip being fastened. The clip holds it in place under tension, so releasing it requires at least a little bit of force to bend it back enough to get the burner out. I think you'll get it figured out by playing around with it.

I really think the grill is a bit wobbly at the moment. Once I get the frame shored up I am hoping that the burner will sit snugly.
I have come across some wobbly frames before, even one that the previous owner ruined the frame by putting cross bracing on. I think the wobbly ones are from pushing the grill around from place to place over the years repeatedly. The most obvious thing is to retighten all the frame bolts, that usually works. Another thing I've tried successfully is to replace all the frame bolts with new stainless steel ones.

I plan on taking the fire box off tomorrow and start disassembling the frame. I’m not familiar with the bottom crossbeam on this grill. Looks like there would be an insert inside the tubing that accepts the bolt. I think that may be broke. Anyway, I’ll just have to take it apart and assess. Plan on doing a good job, learn along the way, take my time and hopefully have something I’m proud of.
