Shape of the door opening on the 22.5"

My cousin and I both have WSM 22.5's. He loaned me his so I could use both for a big cook. Mine is a 2010 and his is a 2009. I can tell the bottom and lids apart due to the code on the vents. I can't tell the middle sections apart.

The only difference is the shape of the door hole. One has a square shape and the other is shaped like a tombstone (an upside-down "U"). So the question is this: which one is 2009 and which is 2010.

I called Weber and they said that they compared at 2010 model and a 2000 model and that all WSM's should have a square hole which I can obviously see is not the case.

Anyone have any answers?

Yeah i have a couple 2010s and they have the Tombstone holes. It was one of the improvements for 2010 to help reduce smoke leakage at the door edges. I wanna say that it helps but i dont have an older one to compare. Does anyone have a 2010 and an older one to see if the upgrade was effective?
