Been a while since I posted. Good to be back.


Picked this up off the local CL for $30. Needs new grates and one touch system piece. Ash bowl and bowl mount are in good shape. Needs Brian's wood handles too. Haven't seen one like this without a table? What gives? Did they do the gold that year with lid ring and temp gauge? It is an EI so '97 .......

 
Ahhhhh master touch! Cool!

Those old rusted out one touch systems a pain to replace? What's the trick in getting the bowl holder off?

Can be.
If it's a "Hex Drive" (thumb screw), turn the bowl upside down and hit it with penetrating oil (not WD40) and let it soak it overnight. If you break the thumb screw off, drill it out.

If it's an "H Drive", get it clean so it can move and do the following maneuver...

Should be a couple of nuts on the inside of the bowl.
Why do you have to remove the lid bale ?

I meant the ash bowl holder, not the lid holder.....

Apparently I don't need to remove it. It's a wing nut assembly, not "H".
