Rum barrel oak

Ok, I got myself some Oak from Angostura Rum barrels here in Trinidad.
Looks like ribs sometime this week.

That sounds really good. Post back after using and let us know the results.

I have tried the jack daniels chips and the tabasco chips. From my experience using these 2 there wasn't any flavor imparted except the oak on what I was cooking. If I want that sweet flavor I use the jack daniels pellets.
 
I bet that rum soaked wood smells great soaked....years ago, I used Jim Beam barrel wood chips-soaked in water-made you want to drink the water and toss the chips. Good smoking wood.
