Roto loin

Spent the weekend camping. As usual cooked up food, burnt firewood, had a few beers (or more). This tri we camped on another creek we like to camp on, Three Creeks Creek. A buddy joined in too.

Marinated a half a pork loin in Bernstein's Italian dressing for two days. Then spun it over KBB and cherry. Used my lodge sportsman grill and my fire pit battery operated rotisserie. Cooked to 145°, rested for 30 minutes then served with corn on the cob and camp taters.

Good views not far from camp. Three sisters, Broken Top, Tam MacArthur Rim, Mt Jefferson, Mt Washington, Three Finger Jack, Black Butte to name a few.

From Left to Right, Tam MacArthur Rim, Faith (South Sister), Hope (Middle Middle), Charity (North Sister). Taken from atop Triangle (AKA Three creeks butte) Butte.

Mount Jefferson & Black Butte. Bitter brush is in full bloom right now and loaded with butterfly nests. Their full of caterpillars getting ready to fly.

Went and checked on another camp that we use. It has a cool Kitchen area. Before everyone goes bonkers all of this is on private land that is open to public use, as long as you follow the Forest service rules. This camp has been here for as long as I can remember. They have modified it to deal with the tree growth. It is very likely that it was a logging camp and built by the loggers. There was a large log deck here at one time as well as the site we camped in which is 3 football fields down stream or so and across the creek.

The slab is 4"-5" thick and probably cut from a Ponderosa pine or a fir as that is predominantly what was logged out of this area.

Few more shots just for fun

There were a ton of wild bees out.

Several fires have gone through the area in the past

We had thunder clouds but no rain (until Saturday late night) and just a couple boomers.

I like your roto set up over your Sportsman Case. Another trip to some beautiful country. Hope Oregon catches a break this year from the wildfires and all the smoke.

Thanks Cliff. The rotisserie works great with the Sportsman’s.

I hoe we all get a reprieve from the fires and smoke this year.
