Rotisserie with ribolator

Hoping someone might be able to help here.
I'm thinking about buying a rotisserie setup and ribolator for my performer. After reading some other posts it seems the rotisserie ring has a gap around it where it sits on the kettle. I understand it makes no difference for high heat roasting. But what about cooking ribs for 6hrs and controlling the temp at 250f.
Is it possible to maintain temp? Or am i going to have to get an OTS to get a better fit with the ring?
 
Hi Joel...I used the ribotalor with the Weber rotisserie spacer on my stainless Performer just fine. Is there a perfect seal from the kettle and the spacer...no but its not too bad either, but I can maintain 250 for 6 hours if I have enough charcoal in there and start it using the minion method. If you get the Weber rotisserie spacer, I have read on here how others have made the seal better by using different methods, or Ive also read that some people on here have the Cajun Bandit and it has a better seal. Maybe some CB owners will chime in and help you make your buying decision!

I've looked at the CB but postage to Australia is over $120 so thats out of the question. I might have to purchase an OTS and set it up permanently with rotisserie and then think about a gasket seal for it.I've read a few posts about the Ribolator and am close too buying one. But i'd love to hear from anyone with the Ribolator. Are they worth it? How often do you use it? What do you cook on it? Are they a must have? Just to get me over the line before i buy one
 
we ship weekly to Australia so some someone down there likes it. you can also go to the Aussie bbq forum to get some opinions as well. as far as the ring, you can use tin foil to fill in the gap. you can also do other web searches for reviews. i look forward to dealing with you.
