Ronco, Set It & Forget It Cook

Had a comp day Friday & cooked two butts.
Most of my long cooks are set & forget but yesterday I was around to monitor.
Two butts 15 lb total.
About 2-3 lb lit briquettes put on 8-10 lb unlit with 1 Large chunk pecan, & 1 small chunk.
Top vent open, front bottom vent open , side 2 vents 10-15% open.
Took about an hour to reach 225F.
Ran for the next 9 hours between 225 & 250F, before falling below 225F
Who needs a temp controller?
 
That's why I got the WSM. All those Qer's out there rockin' their Guru's are having fun with their gadgets but you certainly do not need them for success. But hey as long as we are all having fun and eating good Q, it's all good to me!
