Gotta question. I've recently switched to lump. LOVE IT!! Unfortunately,all I can finfd is cowboy.
It works ok,but I saw some Royal Oak briquettes the other day. Are they any good? They had a great deal on it(2.50 a bag),but wasn't sure if that is an ok brand. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Phil I use Royal Oak Plus (red bag, yellow writing) all the time. I think they are fine, couldn't tell ya about comparison to K for burn time ... but for me K is at least $15 for the big bag, ROP is $8/18lb ... no way K lasts twice as long so it's safe to say it's cheaper.
It has sawdust in it I think ... unburnt oak sawdust and makes a nice smell and taste esp with minion method without even adding smoke wood. The smoke taste it gives is light though, not heavy.
